On December 1, 2020, we rolled out a significantly expanded data offering on IEX Cloud. This included entirely new datasets, more data history, international coverage for over a dozen endpoints, and many more additions. In case you missed it, you can read about the updates in this note from Head of IEX Cloud Tim Baker.
As a part of this upgrade, IEX Cloud is also rolling out an updated offering for financial statement data. This includes:
Reported, normalized, and adjusted financial statements – upgraded reported and normalized financial statements are available starting December 1, 2020, and adjusted financial statements will be available in early 2021.
History as far back as 1998.
New endpoints with access to nearly 150 new fields – including the new Advanced Fundamentals endpoint available starting December 1, 2020, with more comprehensive and complete sets of financial data. Additional endpoints will be available in 2021, such as a dedicated endpoint for adjusted financial statements.
Specialized formats for banks, REITs, and industrial companies – to be released in early 2021.
Coverage will include over 90% of the total U.S. equity market by market cap, including data for the top 2,500 U.S. stocks. Note that certain small-cap stocks may no longer be covered with our financial statement endpoints.
Because introduced new endpoints and updated our existing endpoints' offerings, there are several fields on our Cash Flow, Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Financials endpoints that experienced changes.
Several lesser-used fields have been deprecated and return as null. See Table A for a list of current fields and their statuses as of December 2020. Some of these fields, particularly, on the Balance Sheet endpoint, will be superseded by new data available in the new Fundamentals endpoint (refer to Table B to see the new offering).
Fields will be populated with upgraded data from a new data source. Our team has mapped existing fields to the new datapoints from our new provider to make this transition as seamless as possible. Reference our API documentation for more information on these updated, or entirely new, fields.
Fields marked with "Live" continue to return data. Fields marked with "N/A" have been deprecated and currently return as null. Fields marked with "To Be Added" are being restored or introduced to the endpoint at the end of 2020 and early 2021.
Below you'll find a preview of the fields that will be returned with our new Fundamentals endpoint, available starting December 1, 2020.
